Event recap: Fibroid Institute Texas was honored to be one of the sponsors of the Texas Fibroid Awareness Month event in Dallas, Texas. A Self-Care Forum Community Event Panel, organized by The Barbara Jordan Leadership Institute, was held July 27, 2024, at the West Dallas Multipurpose Center.
Our very own Ana Peña participated as one of the panelists where the physical, mental, emotional, and financial aspects of living with fibroids, including preparing for procedures and financial planning, was discussed.
This Fibroid Awareness Month event was one of many planned in July to do a dive deep into the impact of fibroids on our health and wealth. Fibroid awareness addresses a critical health issue affecting many women, especially within Black communities.
Attendees commented on how well planned the event proceeded, with over four hours of discussion and activities.
